Antonino Sorrenti is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Milan. Bachelor in Politics and International Relations at the University of Siena and MSc in Economics and Political Science at the University of Milan. Between 2014 and 2016 he worked in Brussels as a stagiare for European Social Observatory (OSE), European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) and European Committee of the Regions (CoR). His research interests are comparative social policy, EU social governance and childcare policy. His PhD research project investigates the development of childcare services in Italy and Spain and the politics behind the different policy trajectory in the two countries.

Margarita Leon is associate professor at the Politics Department (Universitat Autònoma Barcelona) and a senior researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policies (IGOP) . From 2003 until 2010 she was a lecturer in European social policy (SSPSSR, University of Kent). She has been a Marie Curie Post-doctoral fellow at the RSCAS, European University Institute in Florence, Italy and also Research fellow Ramon y Cajal at IGOP from 2010-2014. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics (2000) and a MA in Sociological Research from the University of Essex (1995). Margarita’s research interests include comparative welfare research, with a specific focus on processes of reform of welfare systems in Europe according to social structure, labour markets and design and implementation of social policy; New approaches to sociology of work. In particular, the relationship between paid employment and unpaid care work.
