Andrei Lucian Turlea is a geospatial researcher with a background in economics and international development. He graduated from the University of Bologna with a B.A. in International Development and Cooperation (2021) and an M.Sc. in Statistics, Economics and Business (2024). He is currently finalizing an M.Sc. in Geoinformation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2026), while working as a research support technician at the IGOP Institute on the ADIS Project, which examines climate adaptation in disadvantaged neighborhoods. His work lies at the intersection of environmental justice and spatial analysis, exploring how heat and flood risks intersect with urban vulnerability across Spanish metropolitan areas. His research mainly employs spatial quantitative and GIS-based methods. He has prior experience in EU territorial cooperation projects focused on rural development and sustainable logistics.
