Ismael Blanco IGOPIsmael Blanco Fillola (PhD in Political Science, UAB, 2004) is Professor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​where he has been director of the IGOP (2019-2025). He was a Ramon y Cajal researcher at the Pompeu Fabra University and the UAB (2011-2016), and previously a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral researcher at De Montfort University (2008-2010).

He has directed several competitive projects on governance and urban segregation, such as Barris i Crisi (Recercaixa), REDES, TRANSGOB and, currently, TEDIS (Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities). He has also led numerous applied research contracts and participated in international projects funded, among others, by the ESRC of the United Kingdom and the Urban Innovative Actions program of the EU.
He has published in numerous international scientific journals and has co-edited, among others, Vidas segregadas (2022, with R. Gomà) and Barrios y crisis (2018, with O. Nel·lo).
