IGOP presents the annual balance sheet of its programs and activities
On July 6, the IGOP, at the headquarters of the IGOP School in the Urrutia Park in Barcelona, held its annual plenary session in which the main results in training, research and communication were presented.
Training: growth and renewal
As regards the Training Area, Raquel Gallego (PhD), Carolina Muñoz (Master’s in Social Policies and Community Action) and Ixchel Pérez (Master’s in Public Management) spoke. The Doctoral Program closed the year with five theses successfully defended and an open debate on the criteria for theses for a compendium of publications. The Interuniversity Master’s in Public Management has enrolled 34 students and is making progress in a reform of the curriculum that will incorporate new modules on the evaluation of public policies, methodology and technological governance. Finally, the Master’s in Social Policies and Community Action maintains economic stability and reinforces its theoretical-practical model, despite the decrease in Latin American students. The program has promoted language pairs with the Consortium for Language Normalization.
IGOP School and microcredentials
Ernesto Morales and Òscar Rebollo introduced the IGOP School’s balance sheet, highlighting that projects have been developed with social entities, such as a zero-kilometer food initiative and a study on young migrants in Nou Barris. They also took stock of the microcredentials, with two training courses already given and new opportunities for collaboration with public and social institutions.
Research: new additions and ongoing projects
Jaume Badosa (communication) and Charlotte Fernández (Project Coordinator) were in charge of presenting the status of the projects developed at the Institute as well as the actions aimed at maximizing the dissemination of the work done. In this sense, the new additions and the network of collaborators were presented as well as the live projects, both in competitive research and in applied research. Mention was also made of the remodeling of the projects section on the IGOP website to facilitate their monitoring and the introduction of welcome protocols, projects and seminars at an internal level to unify criteria and become practical support tools for the members of the institution.
The different Project Coordinators then briefly presented their lines of research and projects and the director Margarita León took stock of the work done and outlined the strategic lines of her management.
