The IGOP has successfully organized the first edition of the “Comparative Social and Public Policy Workshop” for predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers. The sessions were held on April 25 and 26 at the Metropolis Institute, with almost 40 participants. The workshop attracted researchers from all over the State, as well as PhD students from the universities of Milan, Edinburgh and Geneva.
During the conference, promoted by researchers Llorenç Soler and Manuel Alvariño, academic articles were presented on comparative social policy, the political dimension of welfare state reforms, evaluations of the impacts of specific social policies and the attitudes of citizens towards them.
The workshop was well received by all participants, and an inter-university agreement has been established to ensure the continuity of #COSPPO for at least one more year. The 2025 edition will take place at Pompeu Fabra University.
