We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for a two-year term.
The ideal candidate should have experience in research, particularly in the domains of youth studies and social policies. The main tasks of the candidate will be to collect and analyse qualitative interviews, collaborating with two projects of which Lara Maestripieri is the principal investigator:
- NEXT-UP (EU-funded project, Horizon Europe: https://igop.uab.cat/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/2025-Next-up-Lara-Maestripieri_Fitxa-Projecte-EN.pdf), in this case, the candidate will support the data collection and the analysis of longitudinal qualitative interviews with young people in a comparative intersectional perspective. The scope of this project is to analyse transitions to adulthood in Spain and compare them with four European Countries (65% of time).
- GROW (Funded by the Italian Foundation Cariplo: https://igop.uab.cat/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/2025_Lara-Maestripieri_Fitxa-Projecte-GROW-EN.pdf), in this case, the candidate will be involved in the data collection and support the analysis of interviews with key informants in the city of Milano in the domain of social policies. The scope of these interviews is to analyse and compare the organisational model of childcare (0-3) between Barcelona and Milano (35% of time).

While not mandatory, fluency in Italian is highly valued in prospective candidates.
