Entre el 27 y el 29 de agosto se celebró en la Universidad de Milán la 23ª Conferencia Anual de ESPAnet bajo el lema “The Welfare State in the 21st Century. On the Edge of a New Era or Back to Basics?”. La conferencia reunió a más de 500 investigadores internacionales en el campo de la política social. 

El IGOP estuvo ampliamente representado en paneles, mesas plenarias y presentaciones de artículos, mostrando la diversidad y relevancia de las líneas de investigación en curso: 

Mesas plenarias y coordinación de streams 

  • Margarita León participó en la mesa plenaria “The Southern European Model of Welfare Revisited”, junto a Maurizio Ferrera, Emanuele Ferragina, Amilcar Moreira y Catherine Moury. También coordinó el Stream 7: Redefining Work-Life Balance: Policies and Practice, con Caroline de la Porte y Manuel Alvariño.  
  • Daniel Edmiston actuó como discussant del libro “Families, Welfare States and Resilience Low-Resource Families Navigating Care, Employment and Welfare in Europe” (Mary Daly, 2025) en la sesión de Pitch Your Book. También coordinó el Stream 32: New Perspectives on Poverty, Inequality, and In-Work Deprivation.  
  • Dani Marinova fue coordinadora del Stream 30: Navigating Gender, Identity, and Care: Policies and Politics in European Welfare Systems, junto a Cassandra Engeman, Stephan Köppe y Hannah Zagel.

La conferencia fue una oportunidad invaluable para el intercambio de ideas y aprendizajes, destacándose la participación y el alto nivel de las investigaciones presentadas.
