Marc Parés Franzi es Catedrático de Geografía Humana en la UAB, aunque también ha estado en la Universidad de Manchester (2007-2009), en la New York University (2014-2015) y en la KULeuven (2016). Miembro del IGOP desde el año 2005, donde fue coordinador del Grupo de Investigación en Participación Ciudadana y Movimientos Sociales (2005-2013) y del Grupo de Investigación SGR Urban Governance, Commons, Internet and Social Innovation (2014-2019). Actualmente es el Coordinador del Grado en Geografía, Medio Ambiente y Planificación Territorial de la UAB.
