The award, unanimously approved on January 28, recognizes his career and his commitment to teaching quality. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This award aims to recognize the teaching career of faculty, as well as their dedication and involvement in the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching. It also aims to highlight the teaching function of excellence through public recognition and stimulate practices that promote rigorous, innovative training and commitment to students. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/igop.uab.cat\/2023\/02\/03\/ricard-goma\/\">Ricard Gom\u00e0<\/a> is a professor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), where he has been a Full Professor since 1993. He received his doctorate in Political Science and Administration from the UAB in 1992. Since 2016, he has been director of the Metr\u00f2poli Institute and researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policies (IGOP-UAB).  <\/p>\n<p>The award recognizes a sustained teaching career and a constant commitment to university education. He has been consistently highly rated by students in teaching surveys, which demonstrates his positive impact in the classroom and his ability to connect with students. That is why he has been awarded the Teaching Excellence Award of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, a recognition unanimously approved on January 28. And he will receive the award on June 13, as part of the graduation ceremony that will take place at the Campus Hotel at 12:00.   <\/p>\n<p>With this distinction, the Faculty highlights not only its academic excellence, but also its dedication and involvement in improving teaching over the years.<\/p>\n<p>His research has focused especially on the analysis of public policies, with a special focus on welfare states and urban policies, as well as local government and municipalism. He has also developed a consolidated line of study on democratic innovation, collective action and social movements, analyzing recent transformations in citizen participation and processes of social change in urban contexts. <\/p>\n<p>Among his most relevant publications are Vidas en transici\u00f3n. (Re)construir la ciudadan\u00eda social (2021), with Gemma Ubasart; \u00bfVidas segregadas? Reconstruir fraternidad (2022), with Ismael Blanco; and Movimientos sociales y cambio de \u00e9poca. La acci\u00f3n colectiva en transici\u00f3n (Bellaterra Edicions, 2025), coordinated with P.
