On October 22, 23 and 24, 2025, the 10th Congress of the Spanish Social Policy Network<\/a> (REPS ESPAnet-Spain) was held at the University of La Rioja, under the theme \u201cThe Social Dimension of Public Policies\u201d. The congress was a success both in terms of attendance (with nearly 500 participants distributed across 31 thematic panels) and in the quality of the presentations, contributions, and plenary sessions. <\/p>\n

IGOP actively contributed with a broad representation of its research team, including predoctoral and postdoctoral staff as well as senior researchers. Several works linked to doctoral theses and ongoing competitive projects were presented. It was also an opportunity to reconnect with former IGOP members. <\/p>\n

Margarita Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, Manuel Alvari\u00f1o<\/strong> (CBS) and Lloren\u00e7 Soler<\/strong> (EUI) oordinated the sessions of Panels 7: \u201cThe comparative politics of welfare state reform in Europe\u201d, and 21: \u201cPolitics and Policies in the Face of the Challenge of Social Cohesion: Reforms, Institutions and Actors\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ricard Gom\u00e0<\/strong> (Institut Metr\u00f2poli) and Ismael Blanco<\/strong> (UAB) presented “Nuevo municipalismo y acci\u00f3n colectiva: la articulaci\u00f3n de una esfera p\u00fablico-comunitaria en Barcelona”.<\/p>\n

Predoctoral researchers Adriana Offredi<\/strong> and Ivan Cerrillo <\/strong>presented \u201cComparing the Inclusiveness of Social Policy In-Kind Benefits: Using the Family Model Method across Three Cases\u201d, the latest version of an article co-authored with Gabriela de Carvalho and Margarita Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Predoctoral researcher Clara March<\/strong> presented: \u201cTrust Dynamics in Elder Care Services: Examining Performance, Benevolence and Integrity Anchors Among Key Actors\u201d, an article from her doctoral thesis co-authored with Ixchel P\u00e9rez-Dur\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

Adriana Offredi<\/strong> also presented the paper: \u201cAre We Ready for an Integral and Cross-Cutting Approach to Preventing and Addressing Gender-Based Violence? The LCAT 5\/2008 and Its Implementation in Catalonia\u201d, co-authored with N\u00faria Reguero.<\/p>\n

Postdoctoral researcher Leire Rinc\u00f3n<\/strong> (DEC\/UAB) presented \u201cThe Paradox of Basic Income: How redistribution preferences and perceptions shape support for welfare cash transfers\u201d.<\/p>\n

Predoctoral researcher Matilde Cittadini<\/strong> presented: \u201cPrecarious Futures: Rethinking Youth Vulnerabilities and Minimum Income Policies in an Unstable Labour Market\u201d.<\/p>\n

Daniel Edmiston<\/strong> and \u00cd\u00f1igo Aldama<\/strong> presented: \u201cExcluded? Changes in Household Types, Poverty Risk and Welfare Effectiveness in Europe\u201d, a work framed within the WhoCounts? project.<\/p>\n

Antoni Verger<\/strong> presented: \u201cEducational Reform in Spain: Multilevel Dynamics and Political Alliances Beyond the Ideological Axis\u201d, co-authored with Edgar Quilabert and Mauro Moschetti.<\/p>\n

Postdoctoral researcher Manuel Alvari\u00f1o<\/strong> (CBS) presented: \u201cPolicy Matters: Explaining Political Consensus on Childcare Policy Expansion\u201d, co-authored with David Palomera (SDU) and Lloren\u00e7 Soler (EUI).<\/p>\n
